Keep the Birthdays Coming! :: KBDS Birthday Card Initiative

This year I'm trying to get more snail mail into people's hands & send less Facebook birthday wishes. You guys, it's not hard! Here...watch me. I'll prove it. I'm going to send you guys birthday cards.

Sign up here to participate! Cards will be mailed. Wishes will be sent. Smiles will be had. Goodies may even be involved!

Anyone with a May birthday who signed up to receive a birthday card in the mail from me should start watching their mail box this week. I'd love to time it to your actual birthday, but due to the response, I have to pick a day to send them all. Sorry to be like your dentist.

Anyone with a June or July birthday should get on the stick! Sign up today!

I want to send you a birthday card!

It hit me on my birthday last year…Facebook has replaced the birthday card.

Don't mistake me. It made me so glad to see how many people thought of me on my birthday & posted on my wall. Thanks Facebook for making sure they knew it was my big day. I am super grateful for the times you've reminded me about someone's special day.

Then, I got a little sad…no cards for me. No snail mail. Even my inbox is just full of bills these days. Booooo!!!

So, this year I want to start a new initiative! Do you like getting snail mail? 'Cause I do & I want to send some to you. I want to send you a card for your birthday.

Fill in THIS FORM to give me your name, address & birthday. All information will be kept confidential. I'm not even asking for the year you were born. Who cares?! You're not signing up for my newsletter & I'm not going to send you any promotional anything. Just a birthday card.  One entry per person please. If you'd like me to send cards to anyone else, send them this post & make sure they sign up.

Cards will go out during your birthday month. Smiles will be put on faces…yours as well as mine!

What's in my Stationery Stash

I have said it before & I'll say it again: The secret to sending cards & notes is to have them handy!! To show you that I practice what I preach I'm giving you a peek into... {drum roll...wait for it...}

...my Stationery Stash. It is a many varied & wondrous thing.

At the moment, I keep it in a few places. It's grown over the years, as I moved to different apartments, homes & so the containers, boxes & baskets have changed with it. Right now, most of it is stored in this silver wire basket. Easy to see what I have, easy to flip through & find what I need. I also have some of it in a blue metal magnetic basket that hangs on my fridge. Very handy!

Notice I've kept everything together in one convenient place there?? Stamps, pens, cards all next to each other.

What's in the basket? Stay tuned. I'm going to show you...

High 5 for Friday

A smattering of goodness from the week! Like...

Alan Davies is hilarious!! No matter your opinion on cats, you will laugh at this. I promise.

I am updating all my Christmas listings on my Etsy shop. I was so wrapped up in creating new cards & going to my first craft fair that I didn't really do that last year. Hence, I have a ton of new things coming to the shop. Very exciting!

It was our niece Molly's birthday yesterday! Isn't she cute? We celebrated with a big chocolate cake that she decorated herself.

I made her this card. It's an idea for kids' cards I've had for a while - simple, with just a number on it. Something they can actually read! I think I'll make some more & test them out with numbers 1 to 5. What do you think?

For the first time ever, I am having a hard time keeping this post to 5 things. Usually I get to the last one & struggle to think of number 5. But number 5 has to be...
Going to see Kermit Ruffins at Brooklyn Bowl last weekend with Mr. B, my brother, plus other assorted characters. Please pardon the less-than-steller pictures. Dark venue + Brooklyn Lager = shoddy camera work.

Happy Friday!
