Recycling Your Holiday Cards for a Good Cause
Each year, as the holidays come & go, we amass a pile of greetings sent by our friends & family. Each year I try to find a different way to display them. See picture above for this year's placement under Walter, our Canada goose. Since we were away for Christmas we didn't actually get most of them until New Year's when we arrived home, so they are still up as we are still enjoying them.
St. Jude's Ranch for Children...
The photo cards I sometimes save, sometimes just throw in the recycle bin, but the all paper cards will get a new life this year as donations to St. Jude's Ranch for Children, a safe haven for neglected & abused children. My good friend Sara from S2 Stationery & Design posted about this donation program over on the NewNew blog last week. They take cards of all types and reuse the front to resell in a fundraising effort for their program. Learn more about the donation program & where to send your cards for donating here. Note: they take cards for all occasions but not all brands of greeting cards due to copyright laws.
Learn more about St. Jude's Ranch for Children here. If you haven't cleaned up your holiday card collection or if you have other cards to recycle, I hope you'll consider sending them to St. Jude's Ranch. It is the best kind of recycling you can do!
