St. Paddy's Day :: Hat Freebie!

It's almost here! Are you celebrating on Sunday? No matter if you are watching the New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade, having green beers with friends or making Irish Soda Bread at home, I have a freebie today that will make you click your heels together - Leprechaun hats!

That's it there in the picture above. Here's what you do:

  1. Download it from my Public Dropbox folder.
  2. Print on card stock.
  3. Cut the hat out.
  4. Page 2 has a few bands you should also cut out, tap to the hat & size to your head. You'll also find free printable stickers in the Dropbox if those are more your speed.

Wear it with pride! And send pictures! Tweet @kmbatty (same for Instagram)!

St. Paddy's Day :: Freebie stickers

Nothing green in your closet?? Not everyone plans their St. Patrick's Day outfit as far in advance as I do. It's cool.

I put a sheet of stickers for you in my Public Dropbox folder. Download it here! And in case you need some motivation, here's a little song to get you going...

St. Patrick's Day - Get Your Green!

{image from Cafe Press}

I think of 2 things when it comes to St. Patrick's Day:

1. Where are we drinking...err...celebrating?
2. What am I wearing?

Question number 1 is almost as important as question number 2. I have several St. Paddy's Day stories about that. Picking your celebration spot is important but I will leave those tales to the foggy memories of the peeps that remember what I'm talking about...

This post is about question number 2. The answer to which remains unsought about by many, until the last minute. Or until they are viciously pinched by some St. Paddy's Day smarty pants.

I have a solution for you! Instead of swearing that you are wearing green underpants (which said smarty pants will ask you to prove) download the jpeg below. Print it on sticker paper or tape it to your person & tell that smarty pants what to do with his or her shamrocks.

What are you guys wearing this year? And how are you celebrating? Anyone going to Savannah, Boston or Dublin? Pub crawl? This year NYC is having it's 250th St. Patrick's Day parade. There will be plenty of "Erin Go Bragh" around the 5 boroughs tomorrow. Where ever you are, I hope the green beer & luck of the Irish are flowing!

Beannachtaí na Féile Páraic oraibh!
{Translation: St. Patrick's Day blessing upon you! More fun sayings here.}

PS I plan on making freebies a regular thing here on the blog, so check back often for the offerings. They will also live here on the K. Batty Design & Stationery website. Last year, I posted bookplates & have all kinds of printables planned for the coming months.

Cards of the week - Green!

Last night I had a crazy dream. Everything was mustard yellow. Odd but I took it as sign from my subconscious.

This month each Card of the Week post will revolve around a color! And because St. Patrick's Day will be here before you can say "leprechaun" we'll start with green.

Love the type treatment on this card from Itsy Bitsy Paper. And! The matching envelopes, which are a little extra, really complete the look. Very nice!

Look at all these greens! Delightfully Noted has created a fun & festive St. Patrick's Day card.

How about these traditional cards from The Zesty Desk? They can be sent for any reason (or none at all!) & would be great for kids. Teach those young 'uns to write thank yous!

Have a great weekend!!!

Adventures in Baby Showers

Saturday, I had the great pleasure of spending the day at the Washington Duke Inn, in Durham, NC, with my good friend Tracey. Along with many more of her friends & family, we had an afternoon tea {slash} baby shower to celebrate her first born, coming the end of April.

I hosted along with 4 other lovely ladies. And! I got to design the invitations! Here were the contenders:

Can you see the jumping off points for my current Minted.com submissions? Voting is still open, btw.

The 5 of us unanimously decided the paisleys were the way to go {obvious from my first picture, right?}. They are very "Tracey." She's using them in the decor for the baby's room, along with a bright green that we brought into the invitation suite with Pop-Tone envelopes in Limeade. Ta-da!!

What invitation suite would be complete without Thank You cards? Not this one! I planned to suprise Tracey with a set of these in her shower gift, but like the fabulous friend that she is, she follows all my blogging & saw my Posterous post about making cards on Feb 21st. So, I blew my own surprise. But no matter! She was thrilled anyway!

{These are from my Posterous & available on Etsy}

Congrats to Tracey & her husband John. We are all very excited to meet Baby Bailey!
