NSS :: Time to prep

In October, I announced my participation in the 2014 National Stationery Show. Hadn't said much about it since then. There hasn't been much to talk about to be honest. I've had a lot to think about & not much to act on. There is a lot of planning & sketching to do before I create anything…and the time for making my plans into actions is approaching.

There are certain things I've never done before - like design a tradeshow booth or create my catalog, so I've been pretty obsessed with those things. Add in an order form & a line sheet. I just feel more comfortable knocking out the things I've never done before. I've been developing products for years. I know how to do that! So I waited to start on any new products until now…the beginning of 2014.

The next few months I'm taking my letterpress ideas & executing them. (See the first three here) Plus! I think there are some things that I offer currently that I will not be taking to the show. I need to weed out what I know I can make on a wholesale level & the things I might not want to take to that level.

That means more letterpress posts to come! I'm excited to get Victor up & running again. He had some printing issues in the Spring. Hopefully I figured it out…

Welcome Back!

Woah, that was a fast month. Such good intentions, to catch up...get ahead...relax...Some of which I actually did!

You might notice some subtle changes to the blog! That is something I can check off my list. I had some help with a few design pieces from Sarah Grace of Gracefully Made Designs. Check out her Etsy shop. Adorbs!

So, the changes! The background is similar but lighter. Sarah Grace created a fun treatment to my bio, made some blog buttons for me (take them!!) and help me add some cute social media icons.

My favorite change might be my nav bar. That is the piece of my blog which pushed me to make changes. I did NOT like it before. And now...j'adore!

Let's see...what else did I do on my summer vacation? I scheduled some blog posts, as I said I would. I also had the great privilege of working on wedding invitations for my good friend Traci & her fiancé Nic. More on those later...

I've also been pinning! Catch up on new additions to my boards. What else...Working on new products. Filling loads of orders for notepads!! Yay! I actually have some more notepad designs to upload. The to-do list is still long...

All in all, it's been an excellent summer. What have you been up to? Stay tuned for Tuesday Talk...

Make sure we keep up on Facebook in 3 steps

Do you "like" me? Well...clearly if you're reading this blog you like me, but do you "like me" on Facebook? Do you get K. Batty Design & Stationery updates in your feed? Here's how to make sure that you do!

1. Go to my page.

2. Underneath my cover photo, on the right, next to the button that says Liked with a check mark, there's a cog/wheel/settings drop down menu. (you can see what I'm talking about in my top picture on this post) Click that.

3. Add me to your Interests Lists. It should be the top choice.

If you & I do not yet have the pleasure of connecting via Facebook, you can follow the steps above, plus click "like" on the page. Allow me to give you a few pieces of motivation to click that button! I regularly post product updates, blog posts, market information, sales and thoughts of stationery & life. Like this:

And! Pictures of the sweetest dog in the world. Here...I'll prove it...

How's that?! She's pretty adorable, right? Hope to catch up on Facebook! Leave me a note to let me know you came by!
